Doris E. Jones - Aug. 29, 1927 - Jan. 15, 2007

Doris E. Jones, age 79, of Storm Lake died on Monday, January 15, 2007, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Doris Esther Anderson was born August 29, 1927, in Galva, Iowa, to Carl and Alice (Bell) Anderson. She attended grade school in Storm Lake, Iowa, and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1945.

On October 12, 1947, Doris was united in marriage to Virgil Jones at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Their union was blessed with two children, Marcia and Brad. Doris was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother who treasured the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed reading, and watching sporting events, especially her Iowa Hawkeyes. Doris was a faithful member of United Methodist Church in Storm Lake where she was active in Circle. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Virgil, of Storm Lake; children: Marcia Lawrence and her husband Larry of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Brad Jones and his wife Diane of Storm Lake; grandchildren: Marisa Bolton and her husband Brian of Trophy Club, Texas, Ben Jones of Urbandale, Iowa, and Jenny Jones of Storm Lake; two sisters: Helen Renshaw and Mary Alice Hansen, both of Storm Lake; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; extended family and many friends.

Preceding Doris in death were her parents, brothers-in-law: Ray Hansen and Jack Renshaw.

Funeral Services were held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial is in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation was held at 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2007, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake where the family was present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
