Donald “Butch” Overmohle - Aug. 25, 1945 - Sept. 23, 2007
Donald “Butch” Overmohle, age 62, of Schaller, Iowa, died Sunday, September 23, 2007, in Rochester, Minnesota.
Butch was born August 25, 1945, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Anton and Lauretta (Mooney) Overmohle. He was baptized in the Catholic faith as an infant and later confirmed his faith as a youth. Butch grew up in the Storm Lake, Iowa, area and received his education at St. Mary’s School in Storm Lake, graduating in 1963.
On June 1, 1974, Butch was united in marriage with Nancy Madsen at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller. They celebrated 33 happy years of marriage on their last anniversary in June of this year.
Butch was a truck driver most of his life. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller for many years. Butch enjoyed “hot rods” and liked to work outdoors. He loved his dog, Turbo. A loving husband, dear brother and uncle, Butch will be missed daily by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy of Schaller; his brothers: Leo Overmohle of Storm Lake and Luvern (Eileen) Overmohle of Wapello, Iowa; his sisters: Rita (Fred) Jansen of Storm Lake; Rosey (Francis) Koch of Storm Lake; Betty (Don) Schmit of Storm Lake; Mary (Dave) Breon of Sperry, Iowa, and Lois Kestel of Schaller; mother-in-law, Arleen Ivers of Schaller; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his sister-in-law, Rosemary Overmohle; his brother-in-law, Norman Kestel; and his step-father-in-law, Henry Ivers.
Funeral Services for Mr. Overmohle will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller. Burial will be in the church cemetery at Schaller. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00. The Rosary will be recited at 3:00 and a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00, both at the funeral home during visitation hours.
