Carol Roberts - Jan. 6, 1936 - Feb. 23, 2006
Carol Roberts, age 70, of Linn Grove, Iowa, died Thursday, February 23, 2006, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Carol Ann Mutchler was born January 6, 1936, in West Allis, Wisconsin, to Leo and Theresa (Vogt) Mutchler. She lived with her family in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area, attending St. Michaels through the 8th grade and graduating from West Division.
On June 25, 1955, Carol was united in marriage to Hugh Francis Roberts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To this union, five children were born: Hugh John, Mary, Mark, David, and James.
She took great pride in her family and made their home warm and comfortable. Over the years, her family grew to include many grandchildren with whom she found endless joy.
Carol was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids. She had received her baptism on February 2, 1936, in West Allis, Wisconsin.
She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Carol’s memory are her husband, Hugh F. Roberts, of Linn Grove; children: Hugh John Roberts of Cudahy, Wisconsin, Mary L. Mattison and her husband Terry of Berthoud, Colorado, Mark S. Roberts and wife Lori of Cedar Falls, Iowa, David J. Roberts of Astoria, Oregon, and James M. Roberts and his wife Jeannie of Lake Worth, Florida; grandchildren: Rebecca A. Paradis and her husband Eric, Melissa K. Syndergaard, Sara E. Rue and husband Dave, Kevin S. Roberts, Phillip Roberts, Zachary Roberts, Jordan Roberts, Alexander Roberts, Joshua Roberts, Nicholas Roberts, Sarah Roberts and Sophia Roberts; great-grandchild Jorden Rue; sister, Helen Ruth Manteufel of Racine, Wisconsin; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Leo and Theresa Mutchler; brother James Mutchler; sister Rosemary Pfeiffer; and father- and mother-in-law Hugh E. and Mildred Roberts.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, with Father John Cain officiating. Burial will be in Barnes Township Cemetery at Linn Grove. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2006, at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids where the family will be present. A Scripture Service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 that same afternoon.
