Terry Jack Buse - July 15, 1927 - Mar. 4, 2006

Terry Jack Buse, age 78, of Albert City, Iowa, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Terry Jack Buse, the son of Rude and Clara (Grobmann) Buse was born July 15, 1927, in Albert City, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where he continued his membership until his death. After graduation from Albert City High School, Terry served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.

Terry married Mary Lou Schultz on March 28, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. This union was blessed with one son, Barry, and three daughters, Teresa, Sheila and Becky.

Following his discharge from the Navy, Terry returned to Albert City where he was a businessman for many years. His businesses included Buse Bros., A.C. Lockers, Terry’s Quality Foods, and T. J.’s Tasty Foods. He was well known for his great meat counter and his Swedish potato bologna.

Terry served his community through membership in the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and the Albert City Council. He was a 50-plus year member of American Legion and served on Our Savior’s Lutheran Church council.

Terry enjoyed good jokes, strong coffee, a choice cut of beef, and time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; his parents and brother, Stan.

Terry is survived by his son, Barry and wife Debra Buse of Webster City, Iowa; three daughters: Teresa and husband Leroy Hinz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Sheila and husband Tim Schramm of Le Mars, Iowa; and Becky and husband Lyle Staiert of Auburn, Iowa. He is further survived by his eight grandchildren: Misty Jensen, Cory Meusburger, Joel Schramm, Mandy Schramm, Michael Buse, Molly Buse, Nicole Staiert and Jeff Staiert; two step-grandchildren, Cory Hinz and Jess Hinz; great-grandchildren Addison and Alex Jensen; two step-great-grandchildren, Mollie Hinz and Marena Hinz; extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Albert City with Reverend David Bernhardt officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairfield Township Cemetery at Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
