Walter Lyle “Butch” Mileham, Jr. - July 5, 1952 - Dec. 7, 2003

Walter Lyle “Butch” Mileham, Jr., age 51, of the Corona, California, area, formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa died at his home on Sunday, December 7, 2003.

Walter Lyle Mileham, Jr., was born on July 5, 1952, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Walter Lyle and Helen (Johnson) Mileham, Sr. He spent his childhood in his parents’ home, living in Newell and Storm Lake. Butch was baptized in April of 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake and was confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Newell in April of 1965. He attended elementary school in Newell through the 8th grade and then was enrolled at Storm Lake Community School where he spent his high school years.

Butch served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1977. On November 27, 1971, he was married to Jane Stull. They were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Christine.

Butch was employed in the construction field and served as a foreman with his firm. In his spare time, Butch liked to throw darts, play pool, ride motorcycles and spend time with his friends.

He valued his family above everything and took great pleasure in family camping and fishing trips. Butch loved to be called “Papa” by his granddaughters. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be missed every day.

Survivors include his parents, Walter and Helen Mileham, Sr. of Storm Lake; his daughters Jennifer and husband Alban Péna of Riverside, CA, and Christine and husband Robert Madden, Jr. of Storm Lake, IA; grandchildren: Felicia Madden, Devon Madden, Jessica Péna and Rebecca Péna; brother: Gary and wife Marlys Mileham of Sylvania, OH; sisters: Lana and husband Bill Crilly of Essex, IA, Sharon and husband Bob King of Des Moines, IA, and Susan Ericksen of Norfolk, NE.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Jamie Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Storm Lake AMVets Post 66. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date in California.

Friends may call beginning one hour prior to the time of service at the church.
