Southchay Xayarath - Feb. 3, 1973 - Dec. 19, 2003

Southchay Xayarath, age 30, of Holland, Michigan died Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake after a brief illness while visiting relatives in the Storm Lake area.

Southchay Xayarath was born on February 3, 1973 in Laos to Banthai Xayarath and Khamtanh Xayarath. After coming to America, Southchay lived in California and graduated from high school there.

Southchay was a kind person who liked people and enjoyed conversation over a good meal. She had a special love for children. Southchay was an avid card player and especially liked the game of Red Card. She loved to go shopping and traveling to other states to visit.

Survivors include her parents; her son, Tony Xayarath; her daughters: Phawnkham Bee Xayarath, and Emily Rathida; brothers Kahamsay Xayarath, Khansavay Xayarath and Phonexay Xayarath; a sister, Khambay Xayarath; and many other extended family members and friends.

The casket will be blessed at 1:00 p.m and Buddhist rites will be performed 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
