Larry Fellows, age 68, of Alta, Iowa died January 12, 2010 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Larry Edward Fellows was born on December 8, 1941 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Eickhoff) Fellows. He was baptized as an infant in the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and later affirmed his faith as a youth when he was confirmed in the same church. Larry received his education in Sulpher Springs where he graduated in 1960.

On February 27, 1961, Larry entered into the United States Army, spending thirty-two months in Germany. He was honorably discharged on February 11, 1964.

After returning home from the military, he worked at Robinson Dairy in Storm Lake. He was employed at Wilson Foods/Continental Deli in Cherokee, Iowa for twenty-nine and a half years until his retirement.

Larry’s hobbies included working on his 1974 Duster and lawn mowers. He mowed many lawns for people in the Alta Community. Larry was an avid supporter of organ donation after being a recipient himself. Larry treasured spending time with his family and he enjoyed his grandchildren and their activities immensely.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary of Alta, Iowa; his children, James (Dawn) Fellows of Blue Earth, Minnesota; Diana Fellows of Alta, Iowa; his grandchildren: Jonathan (Kelly) Hagedorn; Morgen Hagedorn; Tyler Fellows; Natali Fellows and Kenadee Fellows; his sister, Cynthia McChesney of Storm Lake; nephew, Jason McChesney; brothers and sisters-in-law: Reverend Herman and Delores Glienke of Miami Springs, Florida and Harold and Lorraine Hinkeldey of Storm Lake, Iowa. Extended family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Evelyn Fellows; his brother, Clark “Butch” Fellows; his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Hazel Otto.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. January 15, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa
Interment: January 15, 2010 at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa
