Katherine A. Larson, age 65, of Rockford, [Ill.] passed away at home on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010.
Born on July 25, 1944 to Lloyd and Verneile (Glawe) Hallengren in Alta. She married Merle Larson on Sept. 6, 1963. They moved to Rockford in 1965. Most of her time was dedicated to watching children. She loved knitting and other crafts, the Packers and the Colts football teams, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Merle; children, Scott (Cheryl) of Frankfort, Ind., Keith (Michelle) of Greentown, Ind., and Tim (Beth) of Beloit, Wisc.; grandchildren, Eric, Micah, Allison, Austin, Andrea, Katie, Kylee; mother, Verneile of Auriela; brothers, Bruce (Debbie) Hallengren of Rockford, Les (TC) Hallengren of Rock Valley, Jim (Linda) Hallengren of Alta; and numerous cousins.

Predeceased by her father, Lloyd; brother, Richard Hallengren; grandson, Ryan Larson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, officiated by Rev. Dr. Ron Meyer. Visitation will be on Friday Evening, Jan. 8 from 5-8 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. before the service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.MEM.com .
