Norma F. Robinson - Jan. 30, 1926 - Jan. 11, 2009

Norma Robinson, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake.

Norma Fern Wright was born on January 30, 1926 to Harold and Venus (Whitney) Wright on the family farm in Rock Township northwest of Quimby, Iowa. She attended school in Quimby, graduating high school in 1943 and then continued her education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. Norma was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

On February 7, 1944, Norma was united in marriage to Wendell Robinson at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Cherokee. This union was blessed with one daughter, Naomi.

Norma worked side by side with Wendell on farms in Buena Vista and Sac Counties until their retirement, when they moved into Storm Lake in 1983. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Schaller, Iowa, where she was actively involved with women’s church group activities. She later transferred her membership to the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake. She was also a member of the Cook Township Merry Gardeners.

Norma enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, as well as cooking, canning and baking. She loved her family and cherished trips around the United States to visit Naomi, as well as the time she spent visiting with her neighbors.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Naomi J. Robinson of Storm Lake; one sister, Ellen Gilbert of Middletown, Missouri; as well as numerous relatives and many friends.

Preceding Norma in death were her parents, Harold and Venus Wright; her husband, Wendell; one brother, Robert Wright; and one brother-in-law, James Gilbert.

Funeral services for Mrs. Robinson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Schaller Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
