From the Alta Advertiser (Alta, Iowa) November 14, 1984:

Services for Fey Mieras, 74 of Alta were held Monday, November 12, at 10:30 A.M. from the Jones Funeral Home, Alta. Mieras died November 8, 1984, at his home.

Fey, the son of Frank and Elvina Fie Mieras, was born September 26, 1910, at Struble. At the age of two, his family moved to Emerson, Nebraska. He graduated from Emerson High School and attended the University of Iowa. After his Naval discharge, he was employed as a bank examiner with Iowa Banking Department. He was associated with Toy Banks in Nebraska and Iowa. He retired from banking in 1977.

He married Janet Erickson, March 11, 1945, in Alta. Prior to moving back to his home community in Alta in 1975, the couple resided at Atlantic for five years.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janis) Degen of Springfield, Virginia; two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. William (Kittie) Corrigan of El Monte, California.
