Frank L. Dobson

Frank L. Dobson, age 69 of Alta, died November 4, 1992 at his residence in Alta.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 9, 1992 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Alta, Iowa. Pastor Dick Dahle officiated.

Frank was born October 6, 1923, son of Frank E. Dobson and Merle Marick Dobson. He attended various schools in Des Moines, the last being North High School until April 1940. On August 1, 1953 he married Join* Johnson in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa.

Frank served his country in the U. S. Navy, Navy Reserves, U. S. Coast Guard retiring from the Coast Guard in Hawaii. He worked in Civil Engineers, Offutt Air Force Base, in Bellevue until March 1982 when they moved to Alta. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Alta and a former custodian of the church.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, of Alta; two daughters, Mrs. L. E. (Judy M.) Rutherford of Mobile Alabama, Mrs. Randall P. (Susan M.) Rynders of Mobile, Alabama; four grandchildren, Erin Michelle Rutherford, Keely Anne Rutherford, Amanda Marcie Rynders, Adam Ray Rynders; and a sister Mrs. Mari Callen of Orange, California.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert H. Dobson; three sisters, Betty Fever, Louise Carlisle and Barbara Vermeulen, two half sisters, Clara Kelly and Marguerite Shinn.

Funeral services were under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Alta.
