WOODSTOCK - Wayne E. Drewes, 88, of Woodstock, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.

He was born June 19, 1916, in Newell, Iowa. He had lived in the Woodstock for the past 36 years.

He worked for Chicago and North Western Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1974.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Company D, 130th Infantry Regiment, 33rd Infantry Division. He was awarded a Bronze Star.

He was an avid Cubs and Kane County Cougar fan.

Survivors include his two children, Warren (Dr. Sandra) and Patricia (Dean) Ferris; four granddaughters, Casey and Dyan Drewes, and Leslie and Jessica Ferris; and a sister, Katherine Kamm.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, in 1987.

The visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, Route 59 and Pine Street, West Chicago. Interment will be private.
