Lynn R. Ingamells, 86, of West Union and formerly of Stanley, Iowa, died Saturday evening, September 27, 2025, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa.

Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.
Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Inurnment: Stanley Cemetery, Stanley, with military honors.

Lynn Russell Ingamells was born November 29, 1938, in Aurora, Iowa, the son of Kyle Samuel and Hazel Alyce (King) Ingamells. In 1956, he graduated from Stanley High School in Stanley. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Lynn farmed in the Stanley area, worked at Stanley Electric and was a welder at ABCO Engineering. For 28 years, he served on the Stanley Fire Department, 21 of those years, he served as Chief. Lynn served on the Stanley Community Club as treasurer and president. He was a member of the West Union United Methodist Church in West Union, Iowa. On June 6, 2023, Lynn was proud to have participated in the military veterans Honor Flight. He was also proud of the Quilt of Valor he received from the American Legion Auxiliary. Lynn enjoyed woodworking and HO Scale Model Trains with his son.

Lynn is survived by his 3 stepdaughters: Kim Thomsen of Thornton, Colorado, Kandi Fanton of Marion and Kara (Travis) Rentschler of Marion; son: Eric Ingamells of Las Vegas, Nevada; 3 grandchildren: Madison, Alec and Kennedy Rentschler; sister: Sharon Fleener of Ames; 2 sisters-in-law: Wilda Ingamells of Independence and June Ingamells of Oelwein; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Shirley Ingamells and Audrey Neuman; 3 brothers: Duane Ingamells, Earl Ingamells, and Eldon Ingamells; 1 brother-in-law: Louis Fleener; 2 sisters-in-law: Ione Ingamells and Judith Ingamells; and 2 nephews: Gary Ingamells and Allen Ingamells.
