James “Jim” Dage, 58, of Oelwein, IA died on January 21, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, IA.

Jim was born on March 4, 1966, in Independence, IA, the son of Donald D. and Doris M. (Boleyn) Dage. He was a member of the Oelwein graduating class of 1984. In 1986, Jim moved to Itasca, Illinois and started a JB Construction. He worked on many homes throughout the community and was later recruited to work in California. He moved to Yucca Valley, CA in 1994, and work as the Maintenance Manager for a company that own several Trailer Parks. He enjoyed the work and the weather of California.

Jim was talented at figuring out how to fix anything and soon started working with computers. In 2000, Jim moved home to Oelwein and Cofounded the National Air Check Co. and specialized in computer repair. For over twenty years he managed the company, until it closed in 2023. He loved to work and soon took a job as a welder at Alpha Trailers in Oelwein.

When Jim wasn’t working, he enjoyed the outdoors. He liked to go fishing, hunting, and going on long motorcycle rides. He loved spending time with his family and friends. In the past few years, he loved spending time with his girlfriend Taneshia McNeese, and treated her daughter, Zarra, as his own.

He is survived by a sister, Penny (Dave Brown) Reaves, Hazelton, IA, a niece Nicole (Brent Wierick) Reaves, his great-nieces and nephews, Rilynne, Gavin, Ivan, Stella, and Ryker Reaves, and his special friend Taneshia McNeese.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Doris Dage, a brother Donald Dage II, a nephew, Zach Reaves, and a great-nephew, Ace Reaves.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM until Noon on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Reiff Family Center - Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment will be held at Fontana Cemetery at a later date.
