James J. Will, 66, of Hazleton, Iowa, died Saturday morning, November 30, 2024, at his home.

James John Will was born July 25, 1958, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Frederick John and Faye Iola (Bebout) Will. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa with a degree in Culinary Arts. On November 17, 1984, he was united in marriage to Konnie Jolene Henry in West Union, Iowa. Over the years, James was employed for Frey’s Amusements Carnival, Reilly Construction for 26 years and Krusemark Trucking. He was a member of ABATE of Iowa. James was known for his famous deviled eggs and taco salad. He enjoyed dirt track racing, camping and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his wife: Konnie Will of Hazleton; son: James Frederick Will of Hazleton; daughter: Coralee Will of Independence; 2 granddaughters: Harlee Blue and Rylee Will of Independence; sisters: Kelly (Anthony) Milano of Thorton, Colorado, Kim (Randy) Rose of Westgate, Karla Michel (LeRoy Wooff) of West Union and Kandice (James) Stenseth of Calmar; brothers: Kyle (Lynnette) Henry of West Union, Blaine Hanson of West Union and Dave Wiedow of West Union; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Frederick Will and Iola Faye Harness; stepfather: Lee Sours; parents-in-law: Harry and Elaine Henry; sister: Kris Hanson; niece: Kaylee Welch; and nephews: Ethan Welch, Ian Welch, Grayson Henry and Infant Henry.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa is assisting the family.
