Devin L. Berry, 20, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Independence, died Thursday, Sept. 9, in Albuquerque.

He was born Sept. 15, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, son of Kevin M. and Elizabeth A. Glovik Berry. He was a 2008 graduate of the Independence High School and entered the U.S. Air Force.

Survived by: his mother of Independence; his father of Palatine, Ill.; a sister, Phelan Berry of Independence; paternal grandfather, Jerry Berry of Bonnieville, Ky.; and stepgrandfather, Don Corcoran of Hazleton.

Preceded in death by: grandparents, Robert and Beverly Glovik, and Carol Corcoran

Services: 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. parish vigil service.
