Paula K. Nollen, 55, of rural Independence, died Thursday, Dec. 13, at home following a long illness.
She was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Waterloo, daughter of Walter Clifford Jr. and Ruth M. Berg Hoch. On Jan. 21, 1984, she married Ron Chris Nollen in Waterloo.
Mrs. Nollen graduated from high school in Waterloo. She was a nurse's aide and physical rehab therapist at Peoples Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Independence.
Survivors include: her husband; a daughter, Renee Bockholt of Oelwein; a stepdaughter, Shelley (Joe) Petitt of Brandon; two stepsons, Ron (Deb) Nollen Jr. of Hartland, Wis., and Brian (Tonya) Nollen of Independence; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Ronald) Nystrom of Waterloo; and a half sister, Khrista Mobley of Onia, Ark.
Preceded in death by her parents; and a half brother, Bob Hoch.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at White Funeral Home, Independence, with burial in Hazleton Cemetery, Hazleton. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at White Funeral Home, Independence.
Memorial fund: is being established.
