Rev. Roland Raham, 84, of Winthrop, IA, formerly of Buffalo, MO, died on Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home in Winthrop, IA.

Roland was born on February 25, 1940, in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Victor and Ann (Grandin) Raham. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1958 and went on to study music at Theil College in Greenville, PA. In 1962, Roland graduated with a bachelor's degree in music. On June 26, 1965, he married Carolyn A. Hayes in Pittsburgh, PA.

He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1969 and became a qualified weather observer technician. He was soon deployed to Vietnam and served proudly with the US Army 4th Infantry Division.

When Roland returned from the service he felt called to serve the Lord. He enrolled in the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church in New York, NY. He graduated with his master’s degree in divinity.

Roland served churches on/in Mackinac Island, Pleasant Lake, Detroit, and Warren Michigan. He later served at St. Anne’s in Keystone Heights, FL, and St. Mark’s in Starke FL, and served as a Chaplain in the US Navy Reserve for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Raham, Winthrop, IA, two daughters, Nancy (Scott) Butville, Independence, IA, and Cindy (Todd) Cholger, Batton Rouge, LA, four grandchildren, Connie Butville, Justyn Butville, Elanie Cholger, and Dianne (Robert) Southard, many nieces and nephews, and a close childhood friend Larry Rizio, Niagara Falls, NY.

Roland is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Hannah Raham, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Hughey and Verna Raham, and Richard and Barbara Raham.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 19th, at Cornerstone Foursquare Church in Independence, IA.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the service on Saturday. Inurnment will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in Adrian, PA at a later date.
