Leann M. Dumire, 27, of Jesup, IA, died in a workplace accident on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in Independence, IA.

Leann was born on September 5, 1997, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Richard L. and Neva P. (Barton) Dumire. She grew up in Waterloo, IA, and was a 2015 graduate of Waterloo East High. Leann went on to study at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. In 2023, Leann moved to Jesup, IA, and started working at Walmart in Independence, IA. She quickly made friendships with her coworkers.

Leann will always be remembered for her bubble personality. She enjoyed smiling, making others laugh, and always gave the best hugs.

She is survived by her father, Richard Dumire, Waterloo, IA, her brothers; Christopher Dumire, Winthrop, IA, Shane Dumire, Masonville, IA, Benjamin Dumire, Anamosa, IA and Johnathan Dumire, Oelwein, IA, her aunts, Terresa (Brett Wilson) Sommerfelt, Brenda (Jack) Clothier, and Carol (Nicholas) Steen, Carol (Kevin) Marvets, Peggy Dumire, Lynn Dumire; Uncles, Lonnie (Teresa) Barton, and Danny Barton, Jason (Jovanah Luerra) Barton, and Kenny Dumire, paternal grandmother, Marie Dumire, her nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Leann is preceded in death by her mother, Neva Dumire, a maternal grandmother, Joyce Scott, and paternal grandfather, Richard N. Dumire.

Visitation will be held from 2 PM until 6 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 14th at the Funeral home with a visitation from 9 AM until the service. Inurnment will be held at Wilson Cemetery in Independence.
