Timothy A. Dawson, 65, of Independence, Iowa, died Thursday morning, May 16, 2024, at Oelwein Health Care Center in Oelwein, Iowa.

Timothy Allen Dawson was born July 27, 1958, Yuba City, California, the son of Floyd and Lois (Heibert) Dawson. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Army. For many years, Tim was employed as an electrician. He was proud to be an American. His favorite song was Proud to be an American by Lee Greenwood. Tim enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.

Tim is survived by his daughter: Kristen (Charles) Wengel of Oelwein; 2 sons: John (Rebecca) Dawson of Woodland, California and Joe Daws, on of Shell Rock;
stepdaughter: Amanda (Adam) Christie of Cedar Falls; 8 grandchildren: Damian Payne, Trista Payne, Camron Wengel, Chloe Wengel, Shawn Dawson, Ayame Christie, Akyeo Christie and Jax Dawson; and 3 sisters: Patricia Price of Arizona, Terri (Tom) Wilcox of California and Debra Dawson of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter: Melody Hewitt in 2019; and sister: Anita Johnson.

Services are pending with Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa.
