Marjorie Ann (Boge) Raye, 43, of Hazelton, Iowa, formerly of Earlville, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a short illness.

Marjie was born November 13, 1964 in Dubuque, the daughter of James and Theresa (Nefzger) Boge. Graduating from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1983, she studied accounting at Upper Iowa for two years.

Marjie was united in marriage to Edwin Raye October 28, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville. She enjoyed working in finance and business, most recently as the office manager for H & R Block in Independence.

Marjie enjoyed spending time with family and friends and they were an important part of her life. She enjoyed jewelry making, reading, music and singing in the church choir.

Marjie is survived by her husband, Ed Raye of Hazelton; her parents, Jim and Theresa Boge of Earlville; five sisters, Julie (Craig) Davis of Delhi, Connie (Lonnie) Helms of Walker, Karen (Paul) Fransen of Plano, Texas, Elaine Boge of Earlville, and Jolene Boge of Monticello; her father-in-law, Edwin F. Raye of Elmhurst, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Chaidez of Downers Grove, Illinois and Kathleen Cuca, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

Marjie was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Anna Marie Raye.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville by Rev. Herbert Tegeler. Family will greet friends from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville. Burial: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.

A memorial fund has been established in Marjie’s name.
