Meghan M. Devane, 21, of Marion, IA by way of Independence, IA, but really from Troy, NY (That’s up state Ya’ll not NYC) died tragically Friday March 1, 2024, in a car accident (I know… you always want to know how a person died).

Megs was a graduate of Independence Jr. Sr. High School and moved to Marion in 2023 to pursue her passion.

She was loved by so many around the country and had such a fierce love for life it’s really too much to get into here. If you would like to get to know her better or just to say goodbye, there will be a celebration of life on Sunday, March 17th (yes it may turn into a good old fashion Irish Wake) at the Reiff Family Center, Independence, IA, from 1 to 4 pm.

Megs is survived by (nobody should EVER have to say this) her mom Liz, her fiancée Logan Bushman, her grandmother, Roberta Hoskins (Honorary) her grandmother, Sue, besties Barb and Tony (my rocks), Nana, her future in-laws, Mike and Mandi, and too many friends and honorary aunts, uncles to mention.

Now, not to be rude or unappreciated of your amazing Midwest hospitality but please refrain from sending or bringing me any food (although I sincerely appreciate the thought) it would be wonderful of you to bring something to the celebration of life, to share with everyone.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Cedar Bends Animal Shelter in Cedar Falls, Iowa where Megs loved to go.
