Glen Frederick Peck was born September 20, 1942, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Frederick & Lorraine Peck. He graduated in the last class from Winthrop Consolidated High School in 1960 and then went on to Iowa State University. Glen served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves before returning to farm with his father. Glen was united in marriage to Marilyn Jean Nelson on March 15, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His love for her was unmeasurable. Glen and Marilyn were blessed with four children, Michelle, Tara, Susan and Fred. The family farmed north of Winthrop where they were beef and pork producers. He was very proud to be a part of his father’s farming legacy and to be able to pass that along to his own son. Glen was also a Pioneer Seed salesman where he made many friends.

Glen’s faith was significant to him, and he was a member of the Church of Christ United. He had previously served as commander of the American Legion Post #560 and was a member of the Pork Producers and the Cattlemen’s Association. In his spare time, Glen enjoyed helping his son at the family farm. His all-time favorite farm interest was helping with the cattle, especially calving season. He was a remarkable father and is remembered for his patience, strength and love for his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he was very active in attending all of their events. At the ball field it was common to hear him yell “Give it a Ride” as the kids were up to bat, and during fair time he could always be seen watching through the pavilion window. The memories and stories that his grandchildren have are abundant; all of them measured by admiration and laughter.

Glen is survived by his Wife: Marilyn Peck of Winthrop; Four children: Michelle Peck of Lakeville, Minnesota, Tara (Abe) Quiring of Victoria, Minnesota, Susan (Tom) Wagner of Concord, Massachusetts & Fred (Maggie) Peck of Winthrop and Ten grandchildren: Kaylan and Alex Hinderaker, Julianna and Ella Quiring, Tommy, Elizabeth and Isabelle Wagner and Kreighton, Kyle and Kael Peck.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He will forever be missed, but his family finds strength in his love, memories and knowing he is walking with grace in heaven with his loved ones. And maybe he is even hauling some feed buckets and delivering seed up there as well.
