Shelli R. Meyer, 52, of Independence, Iowa died Friday, September 3rd, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Shelli was born on May 18,1969 in Manchester, Iowa the daughter of Glenn C. and Frances B. (Snyder) Harris. She was a 1987 graduate of the West Delaware High School in Manchester, and went on to study Police Science and received a Dental Hygiene Certification from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. She later went back school at Hawkeye Technical School in Waterloo and received he RN degree. She was employed as a nurse in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.

On June 18,1988 she was married to John L. Meyer in Manchester, and the couple made their home near Independence. Shelli enjoyed spending time with her family at the river and at her special place in Cobo, Mexico.

Shelli is survived by her husband John, four children; Aleah (Adam) Postel of Independence, IA, Mathew Meyer of Winthrop, IA, Mackenzi Meyer and Kendra (Chris) Cass of Independence, IA., four grandchildren: Addyson Thimmesch, Benelli Meyer, Aiden Postel, and Malika Meyer. Four siblings; Robert (Mara) Jared of Princeton, IA, James (Kelly) Jared of Manchester, IA., Peggie (Rick) Hempstead of Manchester, IA and John (Debbie) Jared of Ryan IA.

Shelli was preceded by her parents, and a grandson, Aaron Postel

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday September 9, 2021, at the Reiff Family Center, Independence, IA., where friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, and from 9 AM to services Thursday at the Reiff Family Center in Independence, IA.
