Beverly H. King, 92 years old Independence, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Monday, February 22, 2021, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Independence.

Beverly Heleen King was born July 23, 1928, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt Crawford and Anita Mae (Cobb) Crawford. She graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1947. On December 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ross Marion King at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup, IA. Beverly worked in the office at Rath Packing in Waterloo, IA and later at the Jesup Community Schools lunchroom. She had varied hobbies, including sketching, free-hand oil painting, and crocheting afghans, hats and blankets for her children and grandchildren. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Prayer Shawl ministry group, Al-Anon, and cooked for the Jesup Lions Club. Her flower gardens were beautiful as were her house plants.

Beverly is survived by her children, Roschelle “Shelle” (Larry) Nabholz of Aurora, IA, Jaanna “Jan” (Bob) Gudenkauf, of Jesup, IA, Theodore “Ted” (Francie) King of Davenport, IA, John King of Marion, IA, Beverly “Bev” (Bob) Lane of Jesup, IA, Wendy Nelson of Scottsdale, AZ, Cara (Steve) Koski of Savage, MN; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ross in 1991; one infant daughter, Vanese Heleen in 1952; and one sister, Joyce Doepke in 2019.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Alex Bruening officiating. Honorary casket bearers were Lukkas Gartin, Ashley Gartin, Kayla Rommann, Drew Koski, Ally Chapman, Rachel Hogan, Michael King, Matt King, Banese Bantz, Elizabeth King Powers, Jennifer King and Travis Rommann. Casket bearers were Zach King, Shay Koski, Aaron Ewalt, Tyler Rommann, Nathan Ewalt and Ben King.
