Barbara I. Dopp, 83, of Oelwein, Iowa, passed away on Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 at Oelwein Health Care Center.

Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa and for one hour before the service on Monday.

Final Resting Place: Union Cemetery, Putnam Township, rural Aurora, Iowa, at a later date.

A Memorial Fund has been established.

Due to recommendations from state and federal health officials during the COVID-19 pandemic, guests are required to wear a mask and social distance. We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.

Barbara Irene Chapman was born on August 19, 1937 in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard M. & Julia Irene (DeWitte) Chapman. Barb graduated from Arlington High School in the class of 1955. During her senior year, she took a job at the telephone company in Cedar Rapids. Barb was united in marriage to Delwyn Dale Dopp on May 27, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Arlington, Iowa. Del and Barb lived in Aurora for many years where they owned and operated Del’s Feed and Supply. Barb worked hard at the feed store and drove school bus for East Buchanan Schools for 37 years. Barb and Del moved to Billings, Montana in December of 2005 to be near their daughter and medical care. They were blessed with 55 years together until Del passed, August 24, 2011. Barb returned to Oelwein in 2016 and lived at the Oelwein Health Care Center.

Barb was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora and the Hope Methodist Church when they lived in Billings, Montana. Barb enjoyed camping trips, fishing and time at Paradise Valley with the family.

Barb is survived by her Children: Dave (Kim) Dopp of Oelwein,

Lori (Jamie) Kemp of Billings, Montana,

Sheri Snitker of Oelwein &

Randel (Michelle) Dopp of Cedar Rapids;

11 Grandchildren &

13 Great Grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers: Jimmy Chapman and Bill Chapman, 2 sons-in-law: Ed Fasig and Clark Snitker and a granddaughter’s husband: Andrew Matney.

The family wants to express their gratitude to Oelwein Health Care Center for the wonderful care and love shown to mom.

Thank you, mom, for loving us. Rest easy sweet girl.
