Arlene M. Prickett, 92 of Maynard, Iowa, died Saturday morning, November 21, 2020 at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Iowa.

A private family funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Dennis Frank officiating.

Interment: Hazleton Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to the family, which will be donated towards cancer research.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard is assisting the family.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings and the recent surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. Those in attendance are required to wear a mask at the church. We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.

Arlene Marie Plaster was born August 14, 1928 at Westgate, Iowa the daughter of Herbert Christ and Esther Anna (Aschbrenner) Plaster. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1946. On February 1, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Prickett at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate, Iowa. Arlene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard and a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner, Iowa. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidery work, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and bingo.

Arlene is survived by her 3 children: Roger Prickett (fiancée: Alice Munz) of Maynard, Gayle Linder of Anchorage, Alaska and Nancy (Ben) Collins of Platteville, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Geneva (Paul) Liebau of Waverly and JoAnn Benter of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 6, 1999; son: Charles on July 4, 1987; brother: Laverne Plaster; and a brother-in-law: Don Benter.
