An Aged Farmer Killed.
Independence, Sept, 3.—John Burke, an aged farmer, was killed at a picnic last evening. His son was riding a runner, when the horse bolted the track, striking Burke, and he was killed instantly. His injury was internal, there being no marks on the body.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1845 and is buried in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
