Fatal Amusement.
Independence Bulletin-Journal:—Seven weeks ago this paper reported a serious accident that occurred on the farm of Mr. Polege, seven miles south of this city, by which his son, Irvin{?} Polege, was seriou{s}ly injured, The young folks were playing on a home-made merry-go-round erected for their amusement, when the boy above mentioned jumped out of one of the swings and was struck by one of the sweeps, an iron bolt being driven into the back of his head, fracturing the skull. Surgeons have been in attendance every day since, but their skill was unavailing. Tuesday morning the youth died. He was 13 years of age. The funeral occurred yesterday.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows an Adolph Polege who is this age and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery. It shows he was born Jan. 31, 1885 and died July 5, 1898.
