Barton Robert “Bart” Knipfer, 82 years old of Jesup, IA, died October 18, 2020 at his home. Burial of his cremated remains will be beside his beloved wife, Beverly, at Timpson Chapel Cemetery in Vinita, Oklahoma. Memorials may be directed to the family or given to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com.
Bart was born June 18, 1938, in Independence, IA, the son of Robert Laurence Knipfer and Marian (Knapp) Knipfer. He attended school in Jesup, IA, and graduated high school with the class of 1956. He then served in the US Army in Korea and Japan. On January 7, 1960, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Armstrong in Denver, Colorado. They made their home in Jesup and Barton worked for Deere and Company in Waterloo, IA, as a sheet metal worker. He retired in 1990. In his spare time, Bart enjoyed woodworking, traveling, bingo and cribbage.
Bart is survived by three sons, Gregory (Donna) Knipfer of Le Mars, IA, Randy (Colleen) Knipfer of Monticello, MN, Cameron (Jennifer) Knipfer of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Sondra (Michael) Marino of Purcellville, VA; 8 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Polly (Richard) Williams of Rowley, IA. In addition to his wife, Beverly, his parents and one brother, Terrance Knipfer, preceded him in death.
White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA was in charge of the arrangements.
