Randy Allan Van Slyke was born on February 2, 1951 in Charles City, Iowa the son of Dale Joel & Vivian Florinda (Morse) Van Slyke. He graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Iowa in the class of 1969. Randy served in the U.S. Army during and Vietnam War and then with the Iowa Army National Guard for a total of 12 years of service. Randy was united in marriage to Linda Marie Ellyson on August 12, 1972 at the Church of Christ United in Winthrop, Iowa.

Randy had worked at various jobs including 20 years at John Deere in Waterloo and at Bossard in Cedar Falls, where he retired from. He was a member of the Jesup American Legion and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

Randy is survived by his Wife: Linda Van Slyke of Jesup; 3 Sons: Kurt (Danielle) Van Slyke of Jesup and grandson: Duncan Edward,Cody Van Slyke of Jesup and granddaughter: Piper Marie and Colt Van Slyke of Jesup and grandchildren: Zane Cole and Zoey Rose; Brother: Dave (Linda) Atherton of Clear Lake; 2 Sisters: Debbie (Richard) Reints of Clarksville and Anita (Matt) Nutt of Clarksville and Nieces and Nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Fawcett-Schmitz Funeral Home in Winthrop is assisting the family.
