William “Bill” B. Meister, 63, of Independence, IA, died on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA.

Bill was born on May 3, 1957 in Independence to Albert Meister and Lucille (Zimpher) Meister. He was raised in Independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1975. On August 2, 1980, he was united in marriage to Tamara Sue Prior at Fairbank Island Park in Fairbank, IA.

He began his working career at the Buffalo Fur Farm in Winthrop, IA. He later moved on to Hawkeye Casting in Manchester, IA and worked there until 1983.

Bill enjoyed playing pool, stock car races, and collecting antiques. He was also an avid fisherman and loved sharing this hobby with his children.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara (Prior) Meister of Independence; his children, Amy (Sean) Burgess of Waverly, IA and Joey (Danenel Conrad) Meister of Independence; Step Grandchildren, Trevor and Baylee Conrad; sister, Debra Hanna of Independence; brother-in-laws, Larry (Christy) McGrane of Washburn, Terry (Janet) McGane and Robert McGane of Fairbank; his sister-in-law, Sharon Shields of Fairbank; niece, Lacy Dauth; nephew, Matt Hanna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, George and Albert Meister. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
