Marcia Rae Barske Wiese, 65, of Rowley, formerly of Independence, died Wednesday, March 9, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from complications of a brain aneurysm.
She was born March 31, 1945, in Independence, daughter of Clifford Myron and Florence Lucille Polk Matteson. She married Donald Stuart Barske on Dec. 28, 1963, in Independence. He preceded her in death. She married Richard Pahl Wiese on April 5, 2008, in Independence.
Mrs. Wiese graduated from Independence High School in 1963 and was a member of First Baptist Church, Independence.
Survived by: her husband; a son, Jeffrey (Jane) Barske of Marshalltown; two daughters, Jennifer (Wade) Wenger of Walford and Jodi (Jeff) Dillon of Columbus, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Amy (Chad) O'Brien of Rowley; a stepson, Dean (Cody) Wiese of Rowley; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two brothers, Melvin (Kay) Matteson of Winthrop and Merlin (Ann) Matteson of Independence.
Preceded in death by: a grandson.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Independence, preceded by an hour of visitation. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. White Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
