Boy Killed at Independence.
Independence, Aug, 14.—A terrible accident occurred at the armory last evening when Harry Tomlinson, a boy of 16, was accidentally shot. Four boys, Louis Littlejohn, Karl McMasters and Will Rodney of Ft. Dodge, broke into the armory and found a cartridge lying on the floor. Littlejohn fitted it into one of the old guns, and it was accidentally discharged. Tomlinson who was in the opposite side of the room, dropped to the floor. The boys called to him to stop shamming, but he was bleeding profusely from a wound in the forehead and died immediately.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Oakwood Cemetery and was born June 24, 1886 and died August 13, 1903.
