Beverly Ann “Pech” Parker, 84, of Lamont, Iowa, entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the Hospice Buchanan County Health Care Center in Independence, Iowa.

Beverly Ann Pech was born December 25, 1934, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Violet VanLaningham Pech. She attended the local schools and graduated from Lamont High School with the class of 1952.

On May 10, 1953, Beverly was united in marriage to Robert Allen Parker at the Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont. They farmed near Lamont and to this union four children were born: Robert, Jody, Mark, and Susan. She kept busy raising the children, tending her vegetable and flower gardens and operating Bev’s Bake Shop. Her donuts and baked goods were enjoyed by many.

In 1995, Bev and Robert built their country home on a rural wooded acreage east of Lamont where Bev enjoyed tending her large yard, raising beautiful flower beds and feeding the many wild animals.

Being very active in Lamont, Bev was one of the founding members of the Common Grounds, a long time treasurer for the Church, and an active member of the Lamont American Legion Auxiliary. She also liked playing card games, especially 500, and traveling.

Her husband, Robert, died very tragically on January 2, 1997. Bev gave up her large country home and lived for the past two years at Prairie Hills in Independence, taking her beloved dog, “Parker,” with her. Bev was much loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Surviving Bev are her loving children: Robert(Kate)Parker of La Porte City, IA; Jody(Marv)Lancaster of Lamont, Mark(Diane)Parker of Lamont, and Susan Gates of Yakima, WA; also ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and her brother Bob(Judi)Pech of CA.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert; and her brother Billy Pech.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont with music provided by Kelly Parker. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren: Ethan Parker, Lindsay Lentz, Derek Lentz, Ryan French, Reed French, Jenny Oleson, Ben Oleson, Kelly Parker, Kristy Cutsforth, Wesley Gates, Jacob Gates, Adam Gates, Brady Morgan, and Luke Oleson. Interment will be in Campton- Oak Hill Cemetery at Lamont.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont from 4 PM until 7 PM.
