—Stephen Tabor, postmaster at Independence, died on the 5th inst. He was aged 53 years, and traced his lineage to the pioneers of Massachusetts. He was liberally educated, possessed of rare intellectual ability and lived life beyond reproach. He was appointed postmaster by McKinley in 1899, and was reappointed in February last.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Oakwood Cemetery and was born Feb. 16, 1850 and died Aug. 5, 1903.
