Adelaida A. , 93 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at ABCM Rehab. Center of Independence – West Campus, in Independence.

She was born on October 16, 1925, in Bauang, La Union, the Philippines, the daughter of Ciriaco and Rufina(Minemerito)Andrada. She attended school in the Philippines. On April 23, 1952, she and John Malcolm Olsen were married in Olangapo, the Philippines. He preceded her in death in 2014. They moved to the United States and Mrs. Olsen became a citizen in 1959. Mrs. Olsen enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and fishing.

Mrs. Olsen is survived by 2 daughters, Margaret Beier of Winthrop, Iowa, and Mitzi Michael of Independence, 1 son, Roger(Denise)Olsen of Winthrop, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters in the Philippines.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 grandson, Chancey.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019, at the Cornerstone Foursquare Church in Independence with Rev. Marty Schminkey officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 14th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
