Elizabeth J. Brown, 101 years old, of Independence, died on Thursday, September 6, at Lexington Estate in Independence.

She was born on October 15, 1916, in Audubon County, the daughter of Willis Miles and Carrie Hunter Gardner. She married Franklin "Burt" Brown in Hazleton. He preceded her in death in 1988.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, and two sisters. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.
