Judith M. Porter, 76, of Lamont, Iowa died Friday morning, November 2, 2018, at ABCM Rehabilitation Centers of Independence, East Campus in Independence, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont with Pastor Raelonna Patrick officiating.
Visitation: 3:30 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Public Eastern Star Service: 3:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home by the Oelwein Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star and Lamont Chapter #472 Order of the Eastern Star.
Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to OES – Barthell Eastern Star Nursing 911 Ridgewood Dr. Decorah, Iowa 52101.

Judith Marlene Anderson was born August 18, 1942 in rural Linn County, Paris, Iowa, the daughter of William Eric and Loretta Estella (McGuire) Anderson. She graduated from Lamont High School. On June 26, 1959, she was united in marriage to N.W. “Bill” Porter in Preston, Minnesota. They divorced in 1986. Judith was employed as a bookkeeper at Ridihalgh, Fuelling and Snitker and for 45 years owned and operated Judy’s Ceramics. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont, Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, dual member of Oelwein Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star and Lamont Chapter #472 Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer at Fontana Park and Iowa State Fair exhibitor and volunteer. Judith enjoyed painting, ceramics, crocheting, knitting, counted cross stitch, plastic canvas, painting rocks, bowling and traveling.

Judith is survived by her 5 children: William (Deanna) Porter of Independence, David (Lay Kean) Porter of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Lanette (John) Celoni of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kathleen Jester of Bates City, Missouri and Jermi (Sara) Porter of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren: Nicole Porter, David Porter, Justine Celoni, Wes Rockwood, Samantha McKeel, Erika Celoni, Will Porter, Austin Warden, Derek Porter, Luke Jester, Jessica Porter and Julianna Porter; 1 great grandchild: Chloe McKeel; sister:Dian Smith of Manchester; 2 brothers: Ronald (Karen) Anderson of Stockbridge, Georgia and Bill (Diane) Anderson of Lamont; and several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 grandchildren.
