Harold H. Breitsprecher, 91, of Hazleton, Iowa, died on Friday morning, May 20,2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church, Hazleton with Rev. Duane Olsen officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Inurnment: Farmersburg Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa at a later date.

A Memorial Fund has been established for: Hazleton Fire Department and EMTs, an Oelwein High School Scholarship Fund and the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

Harold Herbert Breitsprecher was born on June 8, 1919 at rural Luana, Iowa, the son of Louis & Alice (Strein) Breitsprecher. He grew up in the Farmersburg area and received his education at the area rural schools. He started work as a farmer and horse trader with his father. Harold was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Murdock. They farmed for a few years and then Harold started work at an implement dealership in Waukon. They moved to New Hampton where Harold worked for Boss John Deere for several years. Following the death of Dorothy, Harold moved to Hazleton where he worked for Hub City John Deere Implement Co. in Oelwein. Harold was united in marriage to Helen Louise (Nichols) Anderman on July 3, 1968 at the First Presbyterian Church at Hazleton. Harold retired from Hub City Imp in 1981 and continued working part time for the Hazleton Auto Auction for many years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and past member of the Masonic Lodge and the Winnebago Wheels Motor Home Club. Harold enjoyed camping, fishing, feeding birds, playing cards and everything John Deere. He faithfully attended his grandchildren’s sporting events. Harold enjoyed all the time he spent with his family and friends but especially the times spent with his grandchildren.

Harold is survived by his Wife: Helen Breitsprecher of Hazleton;
Children: Mary Lou (Kurt) Cosselman of Oelwein,
Dave Willford of Dubuque, Jane Lillibridge of Jesup,Cal “Bud” Anderman(Carol Zingg)of Hiawatha,
Clyde “Butch” Anderman((Debbie Mayer)of Huntsville, Alabama & Sue (Loren) Corcoran of Albia;
18 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren
2 Brothers: Kenneth (Pat) Breitsprecher, Farmersburg and
Lloyd(Ilaverne)Breitsprecher of Merrill,Wisconsin;

Harold was preceded in death by his parents,first wife on October 30, 1966,daughter: Melodye Willford and son-in-law: Ben Lillibridge.
