Ruth M. Hart, 88 years old of Jesup, IA, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo, IA.

Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, IA, with inurnment at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Ruth Marie Hart was born September 24, 1929, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Maurice Sterling Main and Verna Margaretha (Dawes) Main. She graduated from Independence High School and worked as a telephone operator. Later, she attended Beauty School and became a Beautician. She then owned and operated Vanity Beauty Shop in Jesup for many years. On January 4, 1959, Ruth and Earl B. Hart were united in marriage in Independence, IA. He preceded her in death, in August of 1992.

Ruth is survived by her two sons and daughters in law, Thomas and Lori Hart of Cedar Falls, IA, Larry and Colleen Hart of Riverside, IA; 4 granddaughters and 2 great grandsons; one sister, Eleanor Green of Des Moines, IA; and a sister in law, Jean Ann Main of Independence, IA. In addition to her husband, Earl; her parents; one grandson, Alex Hart; and three brothers, Richard Main, Vernon Main and Walter Main, preceded her in death.
