Joyce M. Sattizahn, 66 years old, of Rowley, Iowa, died on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was born on September 28, 1950, in Charlestown, West Virginia, the daughter of Raymond and Anna Louise (Longerbean) Howe. On April 8, 1988, she and Stephen Ray Sattizahn were married in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mrs. Sattizahn enjoyed spending time out of doors camping and working in her garden. She was especially fond of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Sattizahn is survived by her husband, Stephen, 1 son, William (Karma) Sloop of Vinton, Iowa, 2 daughters, Carlen (Brad) Shannon of Independence, and Jessica Wheelock of Rowley, and 9 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Rev. Sheri Andersen officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.

Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m.until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12th, at the funeral home.
