Christina Lynn Moffett, 61, of Independence, Iowa died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Christina was born on February 15, 1956 in Kirksville, Missouri the daughter of Vance L and Betty L (Walker) Spray. At the age of ten she moved with her family to the Independence, Iowa area and graduated from the East Buchanan High School in Winthrop, Iowa with the class of 1975. She became employed with various nursing homes in Iowa and Missouri and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant and a Med Tec. Certification. After living in Missouri, Christine returned to Independence, Iowa in 2005.

She loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, biking and playing the lottery. It was said the Christine never met a stranger.

She is survived by three children; Zach Moffett, Fairbank, Iowa, Samantha (Ben) Tarpin of Texas, and Brian Moffett, Colorado Springs, CO, six grandchildren, her father Vance L (Nancy) Spray, Cascade, Iowa, her step father Troy Fogel, Quasqueton, Iowa, a sister; Kathy Decker, Independence, Iowa, and three brothers; Allen Spray, Denver, Iowa, Eric (Tracy) Spray, Mechanicsville, Iowa, and Keith (Jolene) Fogel, Independence, Iowa.

Christina was preceded in death by her mother Betty L. Spray, two sisters; Kelly Spray, Michelle Fogel, and a brother DeVern Spray.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, Iowa where friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, and from 9 AM to Services Monday. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery, Independence, Iowa.
