William “Bill” Allen Lee was born November 19, 1945 on a farm near Masonville, Iowa, the son of George Harold and Bertha (Reimer) Lee. William graduated from West Delaware in 1964.

William entered into marriage to Colleen Renee Scovel on February 18, 1967 at Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont. To this union were born three sons; Matt, Mark and Greg; and one daughter; Connie. William worked as a welder and fabricator at Henderson MFG in Manchester, IA. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. William loved to play chess and loved fishing when he had time. William enjoyed volunteering at Common Ground Community Garden. William was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont.

At the age of 71 years, William entered into his eternal rest on Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents; George Harold and Bertha Lee.

Survivors include his wife, Renee Lee of Lamont; sons: Matt (Judy) Lee of Manchester, IA, Mark Lee of Princeton, IA, Greg (Alice) Lee of Manchester, IA; daughter: Connie (Phil) DeMoss of Monona, IA; seven grandchildren: Marissa Phillips, Zoey Lee, Austin and Rachel DeMoss, Morgan Lee, Aiden and Riley Lee; three brothers: Jim, Jerry, and Bob; and one sister: Lois Murray.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont with Pastor Raelonna Patrick officiating. Interment will be held privately at Campton Cemetery at Lamont. Casketbearers will be: Kevin Carroll, Aiden Lee, Austin DeMoss, Kenny Pasker, Alec Zwanziger, and Tom Murray. Honorary Casketbearers are Marissa Phillips, Zoey Lee, Rachel DeMoss, Morgan Lee and Riley Lee. Music will be provided by Karen Kremer.

Friends may call from 4 PM until 7 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont.
