Andy Emil Lightfoot was born September 26, 1935 at Dubuque, Iowa the son of William Otto Lightfoot and Irene Block Lightfoot. He attended school in Dubuque. Andy served his country in the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge.

Andy was united in marriage to Shirley Janet Cooke on July 13, 1957 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They lived near Dubuque until moving to Lamont in 1970 and then to their present home in Aurora in 1979. Andy worked various places ,including the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, worked for a tree trimming service, had a junk yard, and had a septic tank cleaning business. He always enjoyed music and performed in a small band called the Texans. His favorite music performer was Johnny Cash.

Andy entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at his home in Aurora. He was 80 years of age.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Shirley, one son Melvin, one grandson Melvin Lightfoot Jr., four sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include his seven children: Janet (Leonard) Green of Hazleton; John Pease of Oelwein; Andy Jr. (Doreen) of Lamont; Merle “Sue”(Keith) Chrs of Glenville, MN; Dwane (Ann) Lightfoot of Oelwein; Michael Lightfoot of Aurora; Dianna (Keith) Reuscher of Aurora; nineteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren including: Sacarrie (Princess) and Lakota; one brother Floyd “Pete” Lightfoot of Casper, WY.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop with Pastor Allen Craft officiating. Casketbearers will be: Keith Reuscher, Nathaniel Lightfoot, Dianna Lightfoot, Janet Green, Andy Lightfoot Jr., John Pease, and Michael Lightfoot.

Interment will be in Floral Hills Cemetery near Hazleton, Iowa.

Friends may call at the funeral Home in Winthrop on Wednesday from Noon until service time.
