Joyce Jean Streeter, 79, of Independence, Iowa died Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 at the Unity Point – Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

Joyce was born on August 3, 1937 near Troy Mills, Iowa the daughter of Lyle and Ada (Price) Brown. She was raised in the Troy Mills area and graduated from the Troy Mills High School. On April 11, 1992, she was married to Lee B. Streeter in Independence where the couple made their home. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo, word search puzzles, peppermint candy and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

She is survived by a daughter Lila Beck, Wapello, IA. Three granddaughters; Carrie Stick, Heidi Robinson, and Amy Crisp; many great grandchildren, a sister; Irene Pile, Knoxville, TN, two brothers; Charles Brown, Independence, IA, Ronald Brown, Bowling Brook, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee in 1999, two sisters; Janet Noethe, Sharon Cole, and two brothers; Tom and Albert Brown.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church, Independence, IA, with Rev. Mike Andersen, officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon to services on Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be held at later date in Madison Cemetery, Aurora, IA. The Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory of Independence is assisting the family with arrangements.
