Died, at Chatham, Iowa, Jan. 6th, of fever, Charles Ellsworth, only son of Oliver W. Ellsworth, late of Greensboro, aged 23 years. He had been at the West more than a year.
His parents with their two young daughters recently followed, hoping at their new home to enjoy much in the society of their son and brother. But hardly had they become settled at their new residence when he whom they so much loved, and upon whom those parents had hoped to lean when the infirmities of age should come upon them, was suddenly from them removed by death.
How mysterious are the ways of God! But severe as is the trial though which the bereaved one have been called to pass, they are comforted with the thought that Charles was a Christian, and that what is loss to them is to him everlasting gain.
