Donald Stohr, 58, of Hazleton, Iowa died Monday morning, December 12, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic - St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Pastor Dave Peterson officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 9:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment: Hazleton (Fontana) Cemetery, Hazleton.

A Memorial Fund has been established in his name.

Donald Lloyd Stohr was born April 9, 1958 at Oelwein, Iowa the son of Lloyd and Della (Duckett) Stohr. In 1976, he graduated from Oelwein High School. Donald farmed in the Hazleton area and owned and operated his own semi. He was a member of the Blue Fames Band and several other bands. He enjoyed playing the guitar, trap shooting, hunting and fishing.

Donald is survived by his 2 daughters: Amy (Jamie) Recker of Fayette and Brenda (Benji) Michels of Independence; 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jason Recker and Braden Michels; parents: Lloyd and Della Stohr of Hazleton; sister: LuAnn (Danny) Murphy of Hazleton; 1 nephew: Derrick Murphy of Hazleton; and special friend: Colleen Stohr of Oelwein.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
