DUBUQUE TELEGRAPH – HERALD AND TIMES JOURNAL; October 12, 1930

Independence, Ia. Oct. 11, - SPECIAL: friends in the city regret to learn of the death of Mrs. D. R. Warburton, at her home in Grinnell, October 1st. The funeral services were held there and the body brought here Friday and the burial was made in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Warburton was a former resident of this county for many years, being a daughter of one of the pioneer residents of Sumner Township. Her maiden name was Miss Bessie Boyack. She was born in Rockford, Ill., August 12, 1855, and came that fall with her parents to this county and lived here, attended the county schools and was later a teacher in the rural schools until her marriage, April 28, 1880. Later she and her husband went to Grinnell, where they have lived for the past thirty-five years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Smith of Lander, Wyo.; Mrs. Ralph Wese of Omaha; also two brothers, William Boyack of this city and B. O. Boyack of Afton, Iowa.
