Death Mrs. Marie Anderson, Age 85
Mrs. Marie Anderson passed away Monday morning at the home of Mrs. Anna Barclay, who had faithfully cared for her the last year. Mrs. Anderson was 85 the fifth day of November, 1929, and had lived in Independence the last 7 years, before that living southeast of town in the Danish district. She was married to Mr. Peterson in Denmark, and to them were born 8 children, two of them dying in Denmark before they came to America. The daughter, Grace, died in June 1929, Fred three years ago, and a daughter, Sadie, is also deceased. Three daughters survive. Anna lives in White Fish, Montana, Edith lives in New Berlin, NY, and Minnie lives in Sioux Falls, SD. Mrs. Anderson had lived in Buchanan County forty-seven years. On February 2, 1927 she had the misfortune to fall and break her hip. She was cared for a year in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Peterson, but for the last year in the home of Mrs. Barclay. She was unable to be around, being bedfast the most of the time. The funeral will be held at Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev.
